This isn’t one of my usual pastel paintings of Italy. But when I was there a few years ago, I saw this gorgeous potted plant and shot a reference photograph of it to paint a floral pastel back in my studio. The light shining through the petals and leaves was just stunning. And the stucco wall in the background made a perfect back drop.
