I travel to Northern Michigan 3 or 4 times a year. The virgin forests up there
are absolutely stunning. I decided to incorporate the power of these
towering birch and aspen trees into my work. This pastel series incorporates the
"micro landscape" format that I fell in love with while working on the RiverStone series.
